Our Philosophy

One Step Further Childcare Center is fueled by the concept of guiding children in the right direction early so this guidance may lead them throughout life. We emphasize on the values of love and being kind. For example love and being kind are expressed through our actions. When a friend is hurting children are taught to offer a hug and kind word or encouragement. Early childhood is the foundation of life and we work consistently to help create a good foundation for each student. This is done through child-specific and age-appropriate learning in a sincere family-like environment. Each child enjoys having a real connection with their classmates and the staff so they are comfortable and open to learning. Our mission is to employ staff whom serve as positive role models, provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm, and responsive to each child’s individual needs. We take time to learn each student as an individual so we can make them feel safe and therefore free to enjoy their time spent at One Step Further. We allow children to direct their activities, work at their own pace, problem solve among peers while promoting higher level thinking and child-led experiences. Our program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children from 3 months to 12 years of age while emphasizing on independence as well as learning through play and hands on experiences. We will provide experiences daily to help each child develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We learn to make learning fun and ensure each child is celebrated for their accomplishments along the way. No step is too small! Each day children learn new things and here at One Step Further we strive to ensure that children learn the necessary things to set them up for a successful life. We celebrate the fact that we are not "baby-sitting” but instead we are helping shape and mold the next generation. And each day we get One Step closer to winning that race.
